RIP Nip: Rapper Nipsey Hussle Killed In Los Angeles


Grammy-nominated artist Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed outside his clothing store in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon.
Nipsey was pronounced dead at the hospital. 
Two other men who were also shot  are currently in stable condition. 
Just hours before the shooting, Hussle tweeted, "Having strong enemies is a blessing."
As of now, a suspect still remains at large. 
Thoughts and prayers go out to Nipsey's family, lady, friends, and more.
RIP Nipsey Hussle.

Salt-N-Pepa Land Scripted Miniseries On Lifetime

The story of Queens' hip-hop queens Salt-N-Pepa are headed to TV for a scripted miniseries. 

Lifetime announced the story of Cheryl "Salt" James and Sandra "Pepa" Denton will be told and Queen Latifah will be the executive producer for the biographical series.

RIP Phife Dawg: Dear Dilla [VIDEO]

Malik Taylor aka Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest passed away three ago today at the age of 45.

On March 22, 2016, Phife's relatives revealed in a public statement Malik died due to complications resulting from diabetes. 

RIP Phife.


Jay-Z's ‘The Blueprint' Album Gets Added To The National Recording Registry

Jay-Z's sixth studio album "The Blueprint" is being inducted into the Library of Congress' National Recording Registry.
"The Blueprint" is only one of 8 rap or hip-hop albums in the National Recording Registry.

Jay's album has been archived as a collection of songs and records that are “culturally, historically, or aesthetically important, and/or inform or reflect life in the United States.”
Others that have been registered include Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five’s “The Message,” 2Pac’s “Dear Mama,” and Aretha Franklin’s “Respect.”

Notorious B.I.G.'s Estate Sues Swiss Company For...


The estate of the late Notorious B.I.G. is suing a snowboard company for the use of Biggie's images on their products without getting permission.

According to the Blast, his estate was set up by Faith Evans and Biggie's mother Voletta Wallace.

The Swiss company produces snowboards with Biggie's face, signature, and more being sold.

The lawsuit is seeking an injunction against the company and all profits made.


Ice Cube & LL Cool J Secure Billions To...


Ice Cube and LL Cool J just secured several billion dollar commitments in their efforts to buy a group of regional sports channels.
The rap icons apart are looking to bid on 22 regional sports channels, including channels currently owned by Disney.
Sources say Cube's has backing from private equity partners and is working on their purchasing strategy.
If Cube and LL win the bidding, they say there's already a plan in place to use the networks to connect sports and culture in a way we've never seen before.

A Roc-A-Fella Biopic Is In The Works


The story of Roc-A-Fella Records will be finally be told according to Kareem Burke.

Burke revealed he's working on a film detailing how he, Jay Z, and Dame Dash built a hip-hop empire. 

He says, "me living in a shelter, some people don’t really know that. Being evicted, living in a shelter, and staying in people’s houses and floors for two years. Jay losing his father at four years old when his father left him. Dame losing his mom at 14 years old and having to put himself through private school."
