Beyoncé — the most nominated artist coming into the night with nine — won four Grammys to become the most decorated artist in the awards show's history.
Her critically acclaimed record "Renaissance" won for best dance/electronic album to push her past the previous record holder – orchestra conductor Georg Solti – with 32 wins.
The superstar, who was already the most-awarded woman performer in Grammy history and who holds a tie with her husband, rapper Jay-Z for most overall nominations (88), received a standing ovation from the crowd at Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena.
"Thank you so much. I’m trying not to be too emotional. I’m trying to just receive this night. I want to thank God for protecting me. Thank you, God. I’d like to thank my Uncle Johnny, who’s not here, but he’s here in spirit," she said in a teary-eyed victory speech.
"I’d like to thank my parents, my father, my mother, for loving me and pushing me. I’d like to thank my beautiful husband, my beautiful three children, who are at home watching. I’d like to thank the queer community for your love and for inventing this genre. God bless you. Thank you so much to the Grammys. Thank you."
Grammys host Trevor Noah added, “We can finally end the GOAT debate; it’s done now – it’s Beyoncé.”
"Renaissance" failed to win album or record of the year extending her streak of being shutout from some of the Grammy's major awards despite multiple nominations.
