Grammy-winning artist Lizzo, 35, whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, is facing a civil lawsuit filed by three former dancers, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, accuses Lizzo of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment during their employment.

According to the legal complaint, Lizzo allegedly pressured the dancers to engage with nude performers at a club in Amsterdam after a concert. The dancers claim that during a sexually themed show in the city's Red Light District, she led a chant pressuring one of them, Davis, to touch the breasts of one of the nude performers. The plaintiffs state that they were dismayed by the lack of regard Lizzo showed for their bodily autonomy and those around them, especially considering they were employees of the singer.

The lawsuit further alleges numerous charges, including sexual, religious, and racial harassment, disability discrimination, assault and false imprisonment against Lizzo and her production company, Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc. The portion between Grand and Van Buren Avenues will now be known as Tupac Shakur Way, paying homage to the artist's profound love and connection to Oakland, where he spent much of his youth.

Oakland has previously honored other notable figures by naming streets after them, including rapper Too $hort and Huey P. Newton, co-founder of the Black Panther Party.

The legendary auction house showcased the ring as part of its third dedicated hip-hop sale, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the genre and its profound impact on art and culture.

Crafted by Tupac himself, the ring bears the inscription 'Pac & Dada 1996,' symbolizing the artist's engagement with Kidada Jones. It gained global attention when Tupac proudly displayed it during his appearance at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards.

The final sales price of the ring reached $1,016,000, surpassing Sotheby's estimated value of the item after a bidding war that more than tripled the initial appraisal.

As of now, the buyer's identity remains shrouded in secrecy, with no official disclosure from Sotheby's. However, intrigue surrounds the purchase as hip-hop sensation Drake hinted at his involvement by subtly claiming ownership of the iconic ring in a late-night Instagram post on Thursday.

In an Instagram story promoting Travis Scott's album "Utopia," where the two artists collaborated on the track "Meltdown," Drake appeared to be holding the unique ring.

With the imminent release of his first studio album since 2018's "Astroworld," the rapper is making efforts to promote his latest project, "Utopia," which is set to launch this Friday. The Cactus Jack Records boss unveiled a trailer for "Circus Maximus" on Twitter, a movie that coincides with the release of "Utopia." Scott is credited with writing and directing the film. The trailer also revealed high-profile collaborators, including famed indie filmmaker Harmony Korine, Gaspar Noé, Nicolas Winding Refn, Valdimar Jóhannsson and Kahlil Joseph. 

Its official description on AMC's website describes the film as "a surreal and psychedelic journey, uniting a collective of visionary filmmakers from around the world in a kaleidoscopic exploration of human experience and the power of soundscapes."

"The film was shot in five countries (Iceland, Denmark, France, Nigeria and Italy), and the poster claims it was produced by A24; however, studio representatives later denied its involvement in the production.

To celebrate the launch of "Utopia," Scott will be performing a livestream concert in front of the Pyramids of Giza on Friday.

Queen Latifah, who released her debut album a mere decade after hip-hop's birth at the age of 19, asserts in the trailer, "We have come through a lot. We have stood back up, and we'll always keep standing back up. We will always be stronger together than we are apart."

TikTok's Chart-Topping Rapper Superstar Pride Under Investigation for Murder

Mississippi rapper Superstar Pride, known for his viral TikTok hit "Painting Pictures," has been charged with first-degree murder following a shooting incident. The 21-year-old artist, whose real name is Cadarrius Pride, is currently held without bond at the Panola County Detention Center in connection with the death of 40-year-old Marcus Wheatley.

The tragic incident took place on Wednesday at a residence located on Highway 35 North. Deputies from the Panola County Sheriff's Office responded to a call for service and discovered Marcus Wheatley deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

As the investigation unfolded, evidence began to point towards Superstar Pride as the primary suspect. Chief Deputy Reginald Lantern was later contacted by Pride's family members, who informed him of Pride's intention to surrender.

At approximately 4:47 p.m. on the same day, Pride turned himself in to Deputy Lantern, and he was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Panola County Detention Center.

Superstar Pride's popular track "Painting Pictures" had achieved notable success by reaching the 25th position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart earlier this year.

As of now, specific details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting have not been released by the authorities. Pride faces a serious charge of First Degree Murder and remains in custody without bond.

King of Soul Music Festival Returns to Pay Tribute to Otis Redding and Recognize Jermaine Dupri's Musical Genius

The Otis Redding Foundation is gearing up for the second edition of its annual King of Soul Music Festival, a two-day celebration honoring the legendary "King of Soul" on what would have been his 82nd birthday. The event, set to take place on September 8-9, aims to commemorate Redding's timeless musical legacy while raising vital funds for the Otis Redding Center of the Arts.

Ahead of the event, the foundation announced that it will be honoring So So Def Recordings founder Jermaine Dupri with the Otis & Zelma Redding Award of Respect. Karla Redding-Andrews, vice president, and executive director of the Otis Redding Foundation expressed enthusiasm for this year's festival, particularly in recognizing Dupri with the organization's highest honor.

"We have known JD since he was a young man visiting the Big ‘O’ Ranch with his Dad and are so proud of his remarkable contributions to the music industry as a songwriter, award-winning producer, DJ, CEO of So So Def, and entrepreneur," she said. "He was very close to my brother, Otis III, who passed away in April, and credits him with teaching him to make beats. JD aligns with Otis Redding’s spirit and the Foundation’s mission to inspire and empower young artists.”

For Dupri, the award holds profound significance, as it acknowledges the significant influence of Otis Redding III in shaping his skills in beat-making. In a humble response, Dupri expressed deep gratitude, recognizing the honor as a mutual appreciation between him and the Redding family.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has executed a search warrant in Henderson, Nevada, as part of the ongoing Tupac Shakur homicide investigation.

The warrant's execution signifies a renewed focus on the case, which has captivated the music world since the legendary hip-hop artist's tragic death in 1996.

The LVMPD released a concise statement acknowledging the search warrant: "LVMPD can confirm a search warrant was served in Henderson, Nevada on July 17, 2023, as part of the ongoing Tupac Shakur homicide investigation. We will have no further comment at this time."

Shakur, also known as 2Pac, was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting after stopping at a red light near the Las Vegas strip. Despite medical efforts, Shakur succumbed to his injuries one week later. The case remains unsolved, fueling numerous conspiracy theories.

The search warrant was executed at an undisclosed location in Henderson, Nevada, with the LVMPD providing limited details. Nevada's lack of a statute of limitations for homicide cases ensures that investigations can continue indefinitely.

The Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, overseen by the late rapper's sister, has not issued a statement regarding the recent developments.
